The Mirror's Whisper is the voice behind the creation.

This is what The Girl Who Burned (An Elegy For Ice) has to say:

"How many years have you been playing dead while still alive?
Smiling when you wanted to scream.
Shrinking when every bone ached to take space.
Telling everyone “it’s fine” while your chest burned with a truth you never spoke.

Do you even remember who first told you you were “too much”?
Do you remember how quickly you believed them?
How you bent your spine into something smaller, neater, easier to swallow…
and called it love, called it strength, called it survival?

You laughed quieter so no one would see the crack in your ribs.
You swallowed grief like medicine and said, “at least it makes me good.”
You learned to be calm, controlled, polite,
while inside, your fire clawed the walls of your throat begging to be let out.

And tell me you not tired?
Tired of carrying winters that never end.
Tired of freezing your own heartbeat to make them comfortable.
Tired of pretending that ice is peace when it is really just numbness.

This is where the lie dies.

Because the blaze you have feared your whole life,
the one they told you would make you crazy, difficult, unlovable,
that fire is not your enemy.
It is your hearth.
It is the only thing that will ever keep you warm.
Because it is you. Your essence. Your Heart.

You are not here to torch yourself.
You are here to burn the frost that kept you bowed, muted, erased.
Wear the black, this is an Elegy For Ice.
And rise baptized in water and flame
a communion with your own soul.

Yes, it might hurt to thaw.
Yes, you will cry like the first time you were told to “calm down.”
But when the tears are done, what remains is only ever light.
What remains is your own sacred climate.

You are not too much.
You are too enclosed.
Your flame was never dangerous,
it was only waiting for you to embrace it.

This is the funeral of your frost.
Thank the ice for protecting you.
And leave it in the snow.

Because you,
you are the Girl Who Burned.
The woman who finally surrendered to her own heat.
The soul who stopped apologizing for being alive.

So laugh without shrinking.
Cry without shame.

The fire within you is not your punishment.
It is your home.
It is your Self.

I see you. I know you. I love you.
Now burn, and live."

TESTIMONIALS
"I saw The Girl Who Burned at two in the morning while scrolling in the dark. I stopped breathing for a second. It felt like someone had photographed the climate inside my chest. I saved the image and set it as my phone screen. The next day I stood in the shower and said out loud I am done being winter. I called my mother and told her I will not be the quiet peacemaker anymore. I cried on the kitchen floor while the kettle screamed and then I laughed. I have not bought the piece yet, but I touch the glass of my bathroom mirror and repeat the whisper. My son says I laugh louder now."

— IENA

“I am a medical resident. I saw the artwork in a reel and put my phone on the sink and filled the tub. I read the words and asked myself where do I turn down my heat to make others comfortable. The answer arrived before the question finished. I wrote the boundary I needed on a sticky note and put it on the mirror. I told my attending I cannot take any more extra shifts this month. I called my father and said I am not broken for feeling deeply. I slept through the night for the first time in weeks. I have not bought the piece. For now it lives as a sentence on my mirror and it is enough to change me.”

— NOOR

"A friend sent me the link. I am a widow and I kept my house cold because warmth felt like a betrayal. The black dress, the water, the flame behind glass, it all looked like a ceremony I had been avoiding. I lit a candle and read the text out loud. I opened the piano that had been closed since my husband died. The first chord sounded like thaw. Thank you. ”

— MIRELLA

“I am good at being impressive. I forgot how to be honest. I saw the artwork on a quiet Sunday and felt my throat open. I placed my palm on my laptop screen and whispered I will burn what freezes me, not myself. On Monday I told my boss I will not answer messages after six. I told my partner I want a life with windows open and music too loud sometimes. We argued and then we told the truth. I went for a run in the rain and came home steaming.”

Your Truth Reflected Back

The Girl Who Burned speaks in frost and flame. She reveals the winter you wore with every swallowed word, every tidy smile, every time you froze to be acceptable. Yet its clarity offers a gift: The permission to embrace your fire—and be warmed by it. Lay the winter to rest; step into the water of becoming and surrender to your innermost essence. Anointed in flames you finally awaken to you. An Elegy For Ice.

A message from Benjamin Viulet

You did not buy an artwork,
You answered a calling.

Inside each of us lives a climate we learned to survive in. One more apology. One more polite smile. One more “be reasonable.” The frost crept in quietly. This Mirror was made to end the winter and
bring forth your innermost flame.

When you face it, it will not ask for your face. It will ask a simpler question: What part of you are you still freezing to make others comfortable? It will remind you that the fire was always yours. That warmth returns the moment you stop feeding the cold.

Some days the old voices will sound like love. Some days heat will feel like danger. Choose anyway. Lay the ice to rest. Enter the water. Embrace your flame.

When it reaches your home, read the Whisper, place your hand on the Mirror, and make your vow. May this piece mark the season
when winter ends—and the woman you were meant to be begins to live. To burn.

I see you. I know you. I love you,
Benjamin Viulet
